Being prepared and supported allows for surrender into the depths of this unique experience. This sustains a more positive birth experience, from the end of pregnancy until the end of the first year.

Childbirth Education

Childbirth education classes help prepare your body, mind and spirit for the end of pregnancy, birth, and the first year of parenting. Classes include lecture, videos, exercises, ritual, breathwork, and cover topics such as creating a birth plan, stages of labor, how to deal with variations and proposed interventions, breastfeeding, post-partum care, infant care, and more!

These classes are an opportunity to connect more deeply with the process of pregnancy and childbirth. They also provide an understanding about what to expect during labor and infancy, so that parents can make informed decisions, advocate for their preferences, and feel more empowered in their birthing experience.

“I am a birth worker. During the birth of my first son, I recognized the union of the physical and spiritual elements involved in childbirth. There is an awakening that occurs when we go beyond our edge and bring forth life. I became a doula through DONA and began studying birth across cultures. I recognize that the act of giving birth can be beautiful and life affirming. I also recognize the great disempowerment often suffered in our current birth systems. I became a childbirth educator to help empower parents, providing them access to the tools and information necessary for an empowered birth experience. I am enamored by the process of new beings coming into this world, and feel grateful to share the mystery of childbirth with you.” -Angela Sterpka
